As I have no friends, I ahve to use statues to practice my photography on from time to time ![]()
this part of a large sculpture in Lawnswood Cemetary in Leeds.
So...
70-200 on a tripod, 580EX on top triggering a 550EX in my hand.
Technique... .
Hold the cable release at arm's length, make sure the 2 flahes can talk.
click the shutter - run to the position you want to be in withing 2.5 seconds, flashes go off.
review shot... take it again and again and again till you're happy.
It's ace
you can actually go out and do stuff on a crappy day and get interesting results.
makes a change from shots at 17mm with 5 stops of grad and a foreground rock/moss/branch ![]()

I usually use 2 tripods, but left the second one at home... doh!
I hope no-one saw you flashing in the graveyard.
Not only is this a fine sculpture, but your technique has produced a fine image too. It's the running bit I liked.
If you do this ofter enough you'll lose some of the beer G**. Great lighting technique works really well here my friend, see you have one after all.

It's not such a dead loss to do such grave photography.... At least the subject doesn't move, well, not all the time!!!!
