Black Grouse spar at a lek in the Rothiemurchus forest.
Great capture, tough to get right with the black and white of the birds, however these look really good. Burnsie
Good capture and well timed.
A brilliant capture
Amazing birds and good dof. Like the detail in the heather in the fg too. Bet they were really interesting to watch.
Excellent capture of these beautiful birds, love to see them display like this.
Great shot. From what I hear these are becoming rather rare birds and this is quite an unusaul sight nowadays.

Not easy, you have to be out and into the hide before it even thinks about getting light, it's cramped and cold, nail bitingly tense. Then the birds fly in, still too dark to see, but the sounds they make are just amazing. But then you only have a few minutes where it's light enough to photograph before they're off!
Thanks to all for your comments.
