Another quickie break from Rome. Falconer Kira Weston brought a couple of her owls for another Camera Club worknight this last Monday evening. She had introduced us to Tillie the barn owl some time ago on an outdoor shoot. This time it was in our meeting room (well, it was cold and wet outside!), and as well as Tillie, she also brought along Libby, a young female eagle owl. Now, owls are my favourite birds, and I was especially delighted when we got the chance to pose with Libby perched on our gloved hand - I didn't need asking twice! Smile Despite Libby appearing to be a bit fierce looking, she was very friendly and co-operative Smile It was just a pity I couldn't hold the camera in my other hand and show you both of us together! Perhaps I may be able to acquire an image from another club member…Wink

Two of my favourites as well Trev, excellent light on the Barn Owl, the eyes can be tricky to get exposure right, two crackers.

Libby and Tillie have posed so well for you, Trev, and you have captured both bird's in very fine detail. And the on-camera flash has illuminated them so accurately.
Very fine images.
Ronnie.

I like the bird shots, but the background, especially in V1 has visible evidence of being painted in. If you temp brighten your original you will see it clearly.

It needs to be cleaned a lot more Trev, - see mod. As it is it looks like untidy Photoshop work, and thats not a good thing.

Have to agree with you re owls being favourite birds. 2 well captured shots Trev.
I got to hold a tiny owl a while ago - amazing experience, but the handler said as so small didn't need a glove. The little git dug it's talons well into my fingers Sad. Moira

Good detail in both the images Trev - I agree with Willie about the background though - I personally am not good with black backgrounds - I seem to have to work them endlessly.
