Taking a leaf from a recent video featurng photojournalist Don Mc-Cullin, I decided to experiment myself by using my SONY 28-100 Macro lens for Street Photography.....it takes some getting used to but it really works:
This chap had just emerged from a shop for a quick roll-up..............the background was neutralised by the dOF so was easy to desaturate until it vanished:
