love them both, but think I prefer this...???
love the toning on this, cracking composition.
Knew it would be good in b&w, as it's basically a very good photo, so you can't really go wrong. slight preference for the color version, but both deserve a big click Susie
I think this version works very well. To be very picky...it seems the horizon dips slightly to the left, no offence intended. A very nice B&W conversion.
If Sir Koen POTW prefers colour then so do I
Actually Susie, I do prefer the colour version. I still think that splash of yellow from the hut really made the shot work.
Much prefer this version Susie. Definitely more punch to it.
Thank you so much Jouko, Tony and Koen - appreciate you each taking the time to view and comment ...
Steve - grateful for your feedback. And you're right about the horizon, there is a slight lean going on. lol I had to compromise between the verticals of the tower and the horizon! No doubt someone with more advanced PS skills than I could've made a better job of it! lol Thank you again for dropping by ...
lol Dave 'Sir Koen POTW' - he's such a show off, isn't he!? ... thank you for visiting!
Cheers Paul; grateful for your valued feedback, thank you ...
Aaah, the BW works really well. Can't separate them in terms of preference, they are both really well executed.
I really do like this Susie, uploaded a mod for a slightly different feel. This works really well in B&W.
Stunning composition and great toning. This is a cracker of a shot!
I think this one has the edge over the colour version but only just. Both are good.
Excellent capture,Works really well in b+W
Congrats on the well deserved HC
Well done on the HC.
Colour one for me and congrats on both HC's!
Stunning Susie, and well done on the HC
Off to see the colour one now
You did it - and it's great - even better than the real thing!
Thank you Jon, Anna, Phil, Chelsea, Michael, Mark, Maria and Caleb ...
Paul - thank you so much for going to the trouble to prepare the mods; it's much appreciated! Always love to see another's take on my shots. I'm still to learn about dodging and burning! lol Thank you once again ...
And Pete! I'm genuinely astounded - an unexpected and thrilling surprise ... my first ever HC, and there's even two of em! lol I'm really delighted; needless to say, it's made my day ... :o))
Two in a row Susie, you're on a roll, Congrats, well deserved.
Congrats Susie :o)))
The way your - especially landscape - photography is evolving lately the HC's are very much deserved, and no doubt about it, an EC will soon follow.
Enjoy the "being on a cloud"-feeling :o)
Susie - I saw the colour version yesterday and thought about clicking but didn't. This B&W version is imho far better. It adds a lot of dramatic impact and also mood to the shot. Looking at it (from the perspective of someone living in the Northern hemisphere) it says 'summer is over and the life guards have packed up and gone home for the winter'. John
Thank you Vismaya and Mark ...
And Koen too - thanks so much for your ongoing encouragement, it's really very much appreciated ...
John - very grateful for your valued impressions, thank you ...
I like both Susie. If you look around there's a trick to give the sky more contrast - it might add something extra to an already great capture
Hi there Steve - thank you for your feedback, always appreciated!
perfect..love the composition and the convertion!!!
Thanks so much, Ollie ...
Also works superb in mono - much congrats on both of your HC's for this shot - very well deserved!! Lyns x
well deserved accolade
Thanks you Lyns and Keith ...
Superb atmosphere here. The dark tones contrast so well against the light sky. It does remind me of films showing prisoner of war camps though.
Appreciate your comments, Hawk - thank you ...
