I look forward to your shot with the 20D Jim but I think this will be hard to beat. Another cracker.

Thanks, Mavis and Sze.
Jim
Sze - This was taken in August 2002, and I haven't a clue what the exposure was. If I was taking the same shot now, however, I'd meter for the brighter pillars in the centre or possibly even the highlights on the floor. I'd use a small aperture to get good depth of field, and would probably have to use a high ISO setting of 400 or even more. I'd also bracket my shots by a full stop under and over. You can always draw up detail in underexposed shots later on in PS, but you can never put detail back into burntout areas. The beauty of digital, of course, is that you can immediately see your results and redo it if necessary.
Thanks Jim for sharing with me your thoughts on how you would capture this....really appreciate it.
I was there in end 2002 too, but didn't manage to get a good shot of it due to my limited knowledge of photography. I find metering in these conditions particularly tricky, and i find your advice on bracketing such shots very useful. Thanks once again. =)
Hi Jim - lovely light, shapes and detail in this. Would have maybe liked to see the top of the closest arch, but nicely different this one.
cheers, Paul
Its all been said Jim,
But i do remember this as being one of my favourites.
Andy...
It's even been said that it's all been said Jim, so I can't think of anything to add other than "excellent"!
Gareth
interesting design and composition.......the lighting is good too
Superb! I've been there, and really liked the spaces but alas took no pictures. The combination of curves and lighting here is sensational, well done!
Hello Jim - back in the fold!
Dynamic shot this - I like it nearly as much as your guitar EC
Great lighting composition and everything really
Regards Dave
Detail and light are superb as is the colours of the stone,
Beautiful.
Don
Jim,
I've only just come across this shot which I think is a super use of composition, light and texture. I have a very similar shot that I took there a few years ago on slide film with a compact camera but it doesn't quite have the detail your does. Gaudi's work is very photogenic.
