From a lovely morning on Monday with glorious colour across from Lindisfarne to The Farne Islands and Bamburgh . Many thanks for all recent clicks and comments. All very much appreciated.Special thanks to andylea and fazzer for their user awards . Really means a lot to me.The controversy for those who didn't know was because the original winner of The Photographer of The Year Take a View 2012 competition had his prize of £10,000 taken away again because he had not kept to the rules of no manipulation and he admitted to cloning out and it was suspected he had also put in a new sky ......Phil

A splendid capture - I've found and read a interesting article on the "Controversy"
Thanks for drawing our attention to it ![]()

Now that's a real sky! Northern pink can look incredibly cold...
I found the whole Landscape Photographer of the Year business quite amusing, because the direction of the shadows was so obviously false - it's why I hate replacement backgrounds of any kind, the light will almost always look 'wrong', and light is everything.

The castle is well placed in the gap in those fabulously coloured clouds, Phil. Good foreground and lead in as well.
