Digicat told me of a litho effect, so I thought I'd give it a go, but I think I've lost my way a little as it looks nothing like her picture of the wall. Sad

Any way I thought you might like to see something taken with my digital Hasselblad.

I'd really like your views on this effect I've done. Critique & advice particularly!

It's Hadrians Wall looking west at Walltown, 1/25 sec, f16.

CHeers, Goggz

This is a very good sepia type effect, I like it very much, my only slight qualm would be a white spot in the tree's its quite possibly a sheep but I might be tempted to clone it out.

Best Matt

I like it tho I didn't saturate on one of the steps as much as they recommended - it's just a case of playing with the settings.

thanks for the link Smile

But don't forget on my original piccie it had just poured down with rain and the rocks were wet and shiny and dark which has made a lot of difference.

have you played around with contrasts after toning it or curves

Smile

@ Matt - LOL if only I had eyes to see... yep it's a sheep & yep 2 clone.

@ Digi - you could have *told me* about the rain, I'm sure that was the deciding factor Wink

Yes, I messed about with contrast in the RAW as well as a bit after processing. I was really cheesed that I didn't pick out the red jackets of the children. Might do that as a mod.

Thanks for the tip, I like it. Not sure if I went OTT with it though.

Cheers, Goggz

Looks like sepia to me, but I'm a beginner in photoshop.

Hi Barbara, yes it's probably a very long soak in a sepia toner too!

Good sepia print effect, Pete, and lovely composition, but not particularly lithographic - as I remember.

@ Fran - don't get it into your head I am any more advanced than you m'dear! It ain't true.

@ Tandberg - digital hassleblad - the reference was actually to the square crop Wink
S'OK bout not liking the effect, I'll let you off this time...

@ Tel* or anyone with the answer - any ideas what litho should look like?

Well, it looks far too choco to me, I should have tried to make it a bit more B&W with a slight tone really.

Thanks again! CHeers, Goggz
