hi Jonny, just a thought if you are hoping to make this type of image look 'natural' although in reality most of us will never get those. positioning on alternate post or tree trunk may serve you better

good use of +ve exposure compensation

From a lot of years experience in Bird Photography this is one bird that will come to you and not you to them. You have 200mm on the Exif and from the very soft plumage it suggests this was a very long shot and thus cropped in so much all the detail has gone and not done it justice. The perch for the LO is fine as it is one of there main perches as they sit and wait especially round fields for worms or large insects and I have seen them on this type of post more than trees.
I would suggest do not crop it in as much and show more detail. Also try to sit it out in cover closer and let the bird come to you. Be patient and it will happen if you can find their main perch.

I defer to Richard above, have to confess that i had assumed that this was a set-up as LO are i agree difficult to approach contrary to their otherwise purported tencious nature. personally i have only ever seen 3 in the proper wild, two in trees and one... yes, on a satellite dish

your softened image could also be a result of however small a file you have created when converting to JPEG

Have to agree with the previous comments but, all things considered this is still a
super image.
