I have been resticent in putting this one up because the engine is slightly blurred in motion, I'm hoping that I can get away with it....see what you think

Taken back in July on the Ffestiniog railway, Porthmadog, North Wales. The smoke was almost as black as the skies!

For those who know him, you can just see Dougie and his red coat if you squint hard enough Wink

I think you just about got away with it. Great shot, nicely composed with the engine running into the frame. Fantastic sky. I think I might have been tempted to crop out the car on the right though.

I love this. And the smoke is great. I would be tempted to crop the road out and zoom in a bit.

Hi everyone and thanks so much for all your clicks and comments Grin
I'm glad the train dosent look too blurred, hopefully it just gives a sence of movement instead ....

I did think about cropping the right side down more to get rid of the car, but I quite liked the feeling of train and car running side by side, old and new kind of feel if you see what I mean. Was also worried about the train being too far over on the right side of the picture if I cropped it anymore.

My Dad has obviously not seen this pic yet or he would have told you all what the engine is called Wink

I used to holiday in Porthmadog as a child for years and years with my Dad and Grandparents. Our flat was on the hill above the harbour....and geeky me used to know the name of all the engines on the railway just by their whistles. Smile Its a fantastic area of Wales, can't wait to get back there again.
