Good evening everyone, out again this evening to Llanberis, the clouds were nice but the lake was not as I would have liked. This is a 5 image HDR.
Kood ND8 and soft grad up front.

very nice sky and comp, would be so much better with smooth water and reflections but I still like it for the heavy sky and setting

I had this pegged as an HDR from the thumbnail. It's always a good idea to check thumbnails of your HDR shots to see if they stand out.

There is a nice amount of detail in the foreground grass and the colours on the hills are good. In my opinion though you have over-cooked the sky. It is far to heavy and contrasty for the rest of the scene. My advice would be to either reduce the HDR strength, ramp up the smoothing or select the sky and reduce the contrast in final edit.

Thanks Ian for the tips, I think the main problem was using the grad up front to darken the sky in the first place also used an ND8 to try and soften the water a little, have taken back into P/S and adjusted contrast and brushed over the clouds.
