After finding the mountain draped in mist we took a walk along the coast path and found this tiny, ancient church at Pistyll on the north coast of the Lleyn peninsula lay on the medieval pilgrims` route to Bardsey Island. Inside is a 12th Century font and the remains of a medieval wall painting. The Parishioners have revived the tradition of celebrating Lammas, and the church is freshly strewn with rushes and sweet smelling wild medicinal herbs three times a year. this is not something I have seen before, so it was a bit of a shock when I went inside. But it is a beautiful idea, and it is well worth a visit. In the churchyard the grave of actor Rupert Davies who played Maigret in the 1960s TV series can be found. Nearby is an old monastic fishpond.

As a youngster our family holidayed on the Llyn peninsular for many consecutive years, and I feel that I recognise this (for no good reason really). A lovely composition and emotional presentation Linda.
