This image of Loch Shiel and The Glenfinnan Monument was taken last summer whilst on holiday in Scotland.
It was a dreich day!
The Glenfinnan Monument situated here at the head of Loch Shiel was erected in 1815 to mark the place where Prince Charles Edward Stuart ("Bonnie Prince Charlie") raised his standard, at the beginning of the 1745 Jacobite Rising.
The upper part of the statue of Bonnie Prince Charlie, at the top of the monument, can be seen in V2
If I turned through 180º I would be looking at the Glenfinnan Viaduct.
Many thanks to all who viewed, voted and commented on my ‘Put Your Best Foot Forward’ upload!
This will be my last upload for a few days.
Have a good week.
