I've just returned from a week long landscape and aurora workshop run by Antony Spencer in the Lofoten Islands in northern Norway. On our second night we were treated to a sky filling display, rising up from behind the mountains near the beach.
Wow. This is quality I really need to do this before at least once in my life....very we'll done a a brilliant capture
Stunning Aurora image with super reflections. Well done
Unreal, surreal, beautiful. I'm envious.
What an opportunity... what a result, Ant.
Cheers all for your comments and user awards, it really is an amazing landscape and with the bonus of the chance of auroras. We were lucky and had 3 nights with clear enough skies and auroral activity.
a superb beauty.. poetic.. melodramatic.. stunning.. no less.
I'm adding my UA here...such clarity
Surreal and very beautiful, very well taken shot. Regards Martin
Now that's one of the best I've seen.
Thanks again and to cats_123 and Alan for your user awards.
Have to say Ant, I'd of been disappointed if this wasn't awarded an EC!
Cheers niknut and Ed and Pete of course - I'm well chuffed to get an EC for my first upload from the trip! As I said before it really is a great landscape to explore with the bonus of nature's own light show!
What a site to be seen, awesome, to capture and to share, nice one
What a sky. Certainly didn't look like that when I was there. (Mind you, it was July).
Wow, how wonderful.
Lucky you !
Fantastic! wonderful! Ann.
Lucky you! Beautifully composed and taken!
Thanks a bundle to the EPZ team for selecting this as POTW!
A worthy winner, Ant, congratulations.
The right choice....well done Ant.
Wow! Is the right word here Ant. A stunning image and deservedly rewarded. Congratulations.
Great capture Ant, the sky is a good enough shot on it's own but you've also a pleasing landscape shot too.
Great photo, but intrigued by the sharpness of the ripples in the water with a 15 second exposure. Was flash used to freeze the foreground ripples?
OMG !!!!! Not more to say !!!!
Thanks Dave, Ed, Caleb, Tom and Pam. Tom - The ripples are in the wet sand and so were still, just reflecting the light from above.
Wow, stunning. I wanted to give my daily user award to this photo but it won't let me cause of the date it was uploaded. If I could I would though. Such an amazing shot.
Ah, now it makes perfect sense. Thanks for the reply Ant. Great photo, the composition looks like one of those once in a lifetime events where everything comes perfectly together.
Amazing shot. Wish I could witness this in real life one day!
Fantastic photo, Great its as if I was there
