Whilst at New Brighton looking to see what ships were arriving in the Mersey, this scene came upon me rapidly (well somewhat slowly really, but she was moving at a reasonable pace). I though it the ideal case for treatment as under "Rule of Thirds". Do you agree or otherwise?

I tried to convey the sort of "lonliness of the long distance runner" as she was in isolation on the seafront.

Good capture. Yes, perfect rule of thirds.
As your picture is about the runner I done a mod crop out the distant shore line and building, maybe this focuses the eye?

It's the background top I find intrusive, Frank. A lot of detail that pulls the eyes, even from the red. I would crop down quite tightly to produce a more letterbox composition. Otherwise, nice.

Well guys I wanted to keep the top in as it shows my home town and i suppose I am biased in that direction, but as you both suggest removal, I go along with that.

Scrolling down on screen to remove the top you are correct.

Thanks for comments, much appreciated.

Frank
