Winter in the lakes! We prefer snow for our walking as it gives that extra quality that "green" can't give. A lone tree is always a prospect for a good image, add some extra light and it may work!

This really looks cold Maggie! I agree with you about snow adding that 'extra' dimension, a more interesting landscape.
Really like this!

A wonderful grey landscape with that little tinge of yellow in the distance to brighten the image. Great shot!

Ah, the emotional power of a lone tree... This seems to be a survivor against the odds. Wonderfully bleak.

Classic composition and so very cold. The spot of watery sunlight gives a good contrast to the blue cold and the cloud banding gives structure in the sky. Lovely snowscape, Maggie.

Very tricky to capture this gloomy light. Very nicely done.

The lone tree, the winter setting with snow, the low cloud and the lighting all add up so much more than could be captured with the green setting of summer.
Looks cold and lonely up there.
Ronnie.

The tree is on the 'Golden Mean' of the composition and exposure is spot on -- you know how to take a good, clear snap !!

This is really nice, Maggie - sombre and brooding and the flash of light just adds to the drama! My kind of image!!
