A long-horn highland cow, on baslow edge in the peak district.
Despite the dangerous looking horns they're actually quite friendly (i guess given the number of walkers around there they're quite used to humans now).
Got *loads* of photo of them - so photogenic!
Great shot with loads of impact.
A familiar theme, but you've done it well.
Excellent shot nice foreground dramatic sky and the pose of the cow looks like he is coming out of the shot very nice capture
This is beautiful. I like the low viewpoint and the way you have handled the exposure with detail in the sky as well as the foreground.
Great sky, great image!
Lovely image and a great perspective. Love the heather in the FG and the cows expression
Dramatic shot. Low viewpoint works really well.
I like the perspective on this one, great animal in it's natural envirement.
Beautiful image. Well done.
This is one of the best---love the natural inviroment--heather and a grey sky.
We so often see them in green fields with a good sky .
Very well composed i`d be happy if this was mine!
Perfect amongst the heather
the angle give a great sence of depth to the shot.
well composed ian
There have been a few of these lately - this is a good 'un. Love the expression, eyes cast heavenwards, 'Oh God it's another EPZ member...'
Smashing colours and suits the wide angle treatment.
Very nice. The colours from the cow and the heather contrast nicely together and I like the fact it's looking straight at you
Incredible! Pleased to make it 30 - well done!
Nice light and composition - great looking cow too.
this photo has a ton of impact. great photograph!
Truly superb image!! I'm sure that everything else has been said.
Great use of a ultra wide lens - superb work!
Nice use of the wide angle.
Nice choice of angle and great light and colour. You must have been up close to get this.
Excellent image, angle and colours brilliant.
Really nice shot. I love the lens effect.
Great colours and detail. The expression on the cow combined with the low angle works well.
like that a lot
Super colours and angle make a WOW of an image.
Just bought the same lens and now thanks to you I know what to do with it.
clicked this way back......thought it might have had an extra award by way.
I thought it deserved an award too!
Cheers for the comments and votes, i'm really pleased with how this one came out, at the time i was a bit gutted there wasn't much sun given the weather forecast had been for blue skies, but i think it worked in the shots favour anyway
Would have liked some shots of the bull that was there too - great big ugly brute, but he didn't look like he was in the mood for photographs, what with him head-butting a tree for fun, so steered well clear!
Never go near the big fella...those Baslow beast have killed in the past.....and I kid you not.
Now that would take cow pushing to a whole new level
next time i'm dragging ewan along and he's wearing a red t-shirt
Mind, with his insatiable appetite, i'd be worried if i was a cow...
He looks very noble, excellent use of the angle, a brave shot, you must have got quite close.
