Many thanks for the comments on yesterdays LTT. Another today, but with food and a completely natural bg of dead bracken. Smile

I have just seen a little group of these while out with dog - alas, no damn camera with me. Beautiful little birds and so beautifully captured by yourself. Moira

Superb comp, Richard, which really makes the most of this brilliant pose. Terrific plumage detail, textures and tones and fine eye, all complemented by a bg to die for. Is this a full-frame portrait capture composed in camera?

Superb capture Richard, love the colours, detail, comp and the bg really makes the image stand out. Just wondered if a smaller aperture would have brought the tail into focus aswell.

An excellent point and observation Kev. I generally shoot at F8 at the Feed Station as it works well with general birds. The awkward one being the Longy and in changing light I was more after the detail around the head. They come in so fast its a case of grabbing the shot. Yesterdays was better when they are more square on.
To get the tail in with dof would have needed about F16 from the distance I was at and then the bg would have been busy.

Excellent shot Richard. Dare I suggest its not quite as good as yesterdays ( your fault for showing such a super standard previously GrinGrin). Notwithstanding that its still a cracker.
