Cattle on the move between camp and water in the North Kurdufan region of Sudan. Have added a bit of contrast to have the cattle stand out from the background, As It Worked???

Image work very well for me, excellent. I'm not sure how you process your images but this as some before is distinctive and attractive. I don't have any suggestions for improvement. Different to the usual african animal images we see.

It works well for me, too, Mike. Nice and sharp, considering the cattle are moving, and an unintrusive background.

I would like to see it bigger. It is quite interesting but the background looks to have some strange flat tones at this size and I find myself looking at the background trying to figure it out. The trees look to have movement blur rather than focus loss due to distance and the sky a strange mid grey.

It all adds up to a quite striking piece of work, but I wonder what you mean when you say 'added contrast'.

Hi Paul.
Had to increase contrast around the trees to separate from darken sky and cattle with Capture NX, because of the dust even with morning light there is not a lot of contrast around in the dry season.
Mike.

I like this Mike, - not often we see something like this.

I can see the problems you had with the background. If you have the original unmodified shot I would love to see it, - you can load it right here as your own modification.

Anyway, - I thought that since the upper area may be a problem, why not add space to the bottom, crop from the top, and place the tree-line on a third. Then add a misty sort of sand storm effect to the top to make it more realistic, darken it, and increase contrast a little more.

Ive uploaded 2 mods with this done, - first is pure black and white, and second is a partial sepia. MY dreams of Africa are always in sepia!

Hope this helps, and maybe gives you some ideas,

regards

Willie
