Had a walk around leeds yesterday - just took with me the lensbaby composer and 50mm f1.4

I ended up just using the F1.4 at f1.4 for the whole day, a personal challenge if you like. I've only ever used it like that when it's getting dark so didn't really know what to expect.

Well I got a lot of fast shutter speeds, regularaly at 1/8000th @ ISO100

This is a building in the banking part of Leeds, pretty horrible from most angles, but I wandered around for a while and saw the possibilities of the repeating squares and got this amongst others.

All I've done here is rotate by 0.47 degrees and crop... it was a purist shoot, so I've kept the processing like that.

The vignetting is from the lens being wide open

Pretty sure this is about as epz-unfriendly as you can get..

Camera:Canon EOS 5D
Lens:Canon 50mm F1.4 @ F1.4
Recording media:RAW (digital)

have you got any fast primes Martin?

they make the world look different in town

I've spent years at F16, kneeling down with the tripod low...

yesterday I had no tripod, was at F1.4 and finding all manner of wierd angles

really liberating, and most "distractions" get blurred out of existance Smile

Think I would have got neck ache taking something like this Smile

Different and a decent abstract, would get my vote if I was still dishing them out.

Short listed instead Smile

Like the layers of graphic shapes in this Ade, work well.

Not epz-unfriendly at all, I love it! Excellent squares and angles makes this a very satisfying abstract.
