Grab shot in Bridlington. Probably figure too central but detail of shop looked interesting. Could crop of course, a big 51MB file.
EOS 7D, 18/250 Sigma at about 200mm actual, so 320.. 35mm equivalent. f8 on aperture priority. ISO200 in bright sun so about 1/800 sec. Slight work with dodge and burning in tool and smart sharpen, 100%.

Excellent image.
This is just the sort of observational street photography a friend (Mrswoolybill) does so well too.
I love this kind of "taking a peek into other people's lives" shot. Not too intrusive, but tells a story.
I wouldn't worry about the central composition Paul.
I might, in fact make it (allegedly) worse and crop the pillar on the LHS.

A good candid Paul, but given your own suggestion I have tried the crop and think it is worthy of consideration. I also straightened it up a little bit to make the window and door transoms and mullions look square. I also got rid of the pillar without affecting the resultant composition, a little stretching.

Hello Paul,
I read above that you talked about the vertical and horizontal..I don't think that straight horizontal and vertical is very appealing, see MOD2. Personally I would take MOD3 one.. I would like to keep the picture on the glass, it tells me this is a hair dresser's room. I'm not quite sure about the "big sale" sign. It could be a indication to show that she is having a "big sale", because she was looking for the customers; or it has nothing to do with the hairdresser, a sign for other shop. I cloned it off for you to have a look the version without it. And a little burn job has been done...
Jas.
