This shot is looking into the base of Ahshgill Force from the side, as I was seen taking in mrswoolybill's lovely candid shots which were uploaded yesterday. I used a slow shutter speed to try and capture an almost misty looking landscape, using the wet rock in the foreground as a solid base. I liked the single leaf and reflection of the blue sky upon the rock which add some colour, to what might have been a dull image without it.

Oh wow, this is what we missed! One of the best waterfall shots I've seen because it gets to the heart of the matter. Despite the power of water hitting rock, the feeling behind the falls was incredibly peaceful.
And isn't it wonderful how we all saw totally different pictures there?

A classic image that reminds me compositionally of some early mountaineering photos I have seen, taken in the 1860s or thenabouts, "Beneath the Glaciers on the Meije" or some such. I too was convinced that this was in mono until I noticed the leaf - an appealing touch. Excellent photography.

Like this very much John, very 'ethereal', almost abstract. Another great capture to add to your super portfolio. HDave
Love the mistiness of the spray and the clarity of the wet rock - the touch of colour from the single leaf just sets it off nicely.
Magnificent shot... adding color or b/w it would be awesome either way
