On Monday evening of last week, we had our annual Camera Club evening outing to photograph the Christmas lights, and this year it was in our hometown of Wakefield. However, the traffic lights have more colours than the Christmas lights, which are either coloured blue or white! Sad Some of our better images were taken here in the new Trinity Walk Shopping Centre, which although covered, is open all the way through and accessible day or night. I think we all got shots of these (the only Christmassy subjects around this area) and the way the reindeer were looking up towards the sky inspired my title! Wink However, unlike last night's horrendous cold and wet weather, it didn't rain and remained fine for us Smile
Having the tripod, it enabled me to shoot a couple of bracketed exposures for each to produce HDR images.

Techie stuff – see Exif
Raw images processed in Adobe Camera Raw, blended and tweaked in Photomatix Pro and Elements 6.

Thanks again to everyone for your votes & comments on my previous uploads, it really is appreciated and encouraging.

How unusual to see a shopping mall completely empty Smile Super images, and the perfect title. Carol

I particularly like #1 for the colours, composition and the lack of people. The lines of composition are excellent

Was the shopping centre shut? It seems so unlikely, but gives the place an interesting edge.

No, it wasn't shut - as I mentioned, anyone can walk through any time of day or night. There were some other people about at times, but it was after 9:00 p.m., so all the shops were shut! In fact, if you look closely in V1 & V2, you may just see some ghostly figures! Wink

A good set, Trev, extremely clear images. You have effectively depicted the reindeer stalking proudly round the shopping centre.
The big retailers are the only ones with the cash to spare for Xmas lights at the moment. Blue and white line our main street quite insignificantly; the only way to improve the look is through a telephoto - which reminds me that it's about time I went down there again at night. First I'll have to find the tripod Smile

Bill

If the mall is open 24 hours a day that suggests that there's a public right of way running through it - how lucky for you because I think you were in on the discussion the other week about malls generally not allowing photography!
These are all excellent, and I think they benefit from the simplicity of having just the one 'statement' decoration. (love your title by the way Smile ) I go for v3, because it just seems so right to have the reindeer against the night sky.

Lovely Christmassy images. V1 is my overall favourite, but good to see the close ups of those wonderful reindeer too. As for the title, well, what can I say? Smile

I guess the name of the shop in V1, foreground left, is part of the pun too? Love the closer shots of the reindeer.

While I was looking at these amazingly clear images, I wondered what processing programmes you used. Thanks for the info! But I am not that professionally equiped - and don't have the money for it. How ever, stunning work, indeed.
