Either the bird found it or the feather blew away in the last wind storm.
So--- I'm just mentioning this-- considering the hype for the storm that is to hit us over night--- we may or may not have power/be on line tomorrow-
LOL, I may also have some great photo ops!
Good luck with the storm. An intriguing image here, Jenn -- looks like some alien creature.
What a special photo Jenn !! great textures and composition !!

Well seen, taken and presented Jennn. As to the weather, starting tomorrow night and right through Saturday, it seems we're in for a rough time, like you, I just keep my fingers crossed for the power, we lost it for four hours a week ago today.
Good luck with the weather Jenn, a great capture with lots of mystery! The detail in the feather is superb!
An excellent composition and I hope that the storm isn't to hard

So well seen and captured. Sometimes it is all about simplicity and this shot is all about that. Great detail. Ann.
Very well detailed shot f the 'lost feather', Jenn: keep safe if that storm comes along.
A lovely detailed shot
Lovely textures and details. All the best re the weather. We were told about searing North winds which thankfully never did happen this week, so here's hoping the same applies for you!
An extreme macro or a very large feather?
It does look like a strange creature.
Hope the storm isn't too bad.
So delicate and fragile
Batten down the hatches Jenn and fingers X'd you power stays on
Excellent tones Jenn, nice capture.
The calm before the storm.. Good luck.
I'm sure it'll find a good home soon as part of a bird nest and help keep the next generation warm and cosy.
Such wonderful detail in the feather. It is so tactile.
Good luck in the storm....I'm keeping my fingers crossed it won't be as bad as predicted.
Stay safe never mind the ops superbly taken stray feather I like this a lot the detail is superb
Love this one Jenn, batten down the hatches........
Lovely light and textures in this well composed capture, Jenn.
Beautiful and emotive Jenn
A superb find, Jennifer. Lovely detail in that lone feather, looks so soft and downy, chose a great place to land and wait for your coming along with the camera!!
The shape of the log with the battered feather on top resembles some strange forest creature Jenn. Good eyes!
Yes, see you all are about to get the Nor-easter of all Nor-easters, and that a state of emergency has already been issued for several states. Stay safe, and when it's over done the boots and capture what you can.
Lost & found by you! I like taking shots of feathers even white one, you can get some great shots out of them, colour textures and tones, nice one and being on the log Jenn, is a bonus, regards Leon. snowing once again here in the U.K. thought we had seen the last of it, freezing cold to, batten down the hatches Jenn.
But found and photographed by your good self, you have such sharp eyes and never miss a photo opportunity
