Shot around 60 miles off the coast Svalbard in the high arctic. The Cubs are around 6 months old and face an uncertain future in a word that is fast changing around them. LOST?
LARGE SHOULD HAVE A LOT MORE DETAIL
Thanks for Looking

Me too, brill.

I think this shot is fantastic. Not only does it have good quality photography but it also highlights the issues that animals have with global warming as well.
Great shot.
Richie.
I reckon this is National Geographic quality. Superb image.
Alan.
Absolutely beautiful but, oh so sad image, what bodes for our animal world?
Amazing I loved the first one and this is just as good
Colin
i have seen the previous, this is another stunner

The positioning of the bears on the ice berg, drifting, emphasises the feeling of uncertainty and lost so much!
Pretty emotional picture, definitely a 'to die for' photo (no pun intended)
An image of today, uncertain future for all wildlife. Climate change or mans interferance Dennis. Ron.
these are the shots that stay with you forever. Well captured
Stunning - I think it may get another badge. Even from the thumbs I thought I bet that gets an award well deserved.
They dont come better than this, and it just go's to show you dont need the top of the range Canon or Nikon. Perfect lighting, perfect positioning, Its also being in the right place at the right time. Give National geographic a call this is the sort of photograph they like to have. If you can drop me a e-mail so I can keep in touch as its always nice to know where to get hold of you if I ever need this photo for a gallery showing. rseager@unsceneimages.com

Wonderful capture....A very emotional image, especially with what we've been hearing on global warming.....this is brilliant.....Sandy
Thanks to everybody that has voted and commented and to the team for the award. I'm blown away by the response to be honest especially as I've ignored the image for almost two years!
Many Thanks
Den
This is an outstanding capture that shows the plight of these magnificent animals so well. Love the 3 differnt aspects of position and direction they are looking in. The reflections are just superb in such clear and calm water as well. The only thing I might have done is to crop a little off the left and also are the 2 pieces in the top ice as well as they had me looking at them but there again so was the adult PB.
Absolutely awesome capture, this should be hanging as a winner in the Natural History Museum, for WPOTY
Richard
Lost indeed, lets hope not for ever!
Magnificent image.
The way the mother is looking as if trying to decide where to go next, the cub sitting upright with quiet resignation to its fate and the mischeivous cub looking at its own reflection make this a very thought provoking image.
Roger
Magnificient! What a privilage to be able to photograph these beautiful animals. Paul
Thanks to Hendrik & Paul for the awards. Very much appreciated
Cheers
Den
my weekly UA is the least I can do for these majestic animals in this STUNNING shot of yours, Den!
Jouko
It's a sad predicament but a great image and a terrific series you captured over there. Thanks for sharing...
Howard
It's been quite some time since I last saw a photograph which made me gawp and go "Wow! I sooo wish I'd taken that!"
Awesome! Gotta be a money shot!
Ian
This really conveys the feeling of being lost. Although the three bears are together, they are each looking in totally different directions as if to say 'where do we go from here'. A sad fact about the evolution of Planet Earth and man's intervention.
A truly moving image.
Bruce

steve
