A gorgeous portrait. Love the tight composition which really gives the sense of intimacy between mother and child.

Not always possible if shooting the moment but if there were more time it would have been good to shape the light so the stronger light coming across your sisters face was softened. Using a diffuser to block or soften the stronger light coming from behind - may have been as simple as drawing a curtain a little.

The mono conversion works although I feel it needs a little tweak on levels to get the best out of the tonal range.

Nonetheless this is a beautiful portrait and will no doubt deserve more attention than it probably will receive.
