If memory serves this is 'love in a mist' and I know I have taken a photo of this before, but I do find it quite fascinating, if it wasn't for the blue flower I can imagine this is what a triffid would look like, only a lot larger lol. Those snaking tendrils reaching out for what?

Thank you as always for all your C&C's very much appreciated.

Thanks for taking the time to look.

Hugh

Some superb detail and colour in this, Hugh. I love the tendrils defocusing as they reach into the background, with one or two ghost on the right Wink

Yep, Love in a Mist or I think Nigella is another name for it? Love the spikiness, colour and the great detail. We usd to have swathes of these in the garden. Keep an eye out for the pods after flowering, they are very photogenic too. Hope your wife is ok?

You have the name right, Hugh. These fascinate me, too, and they aren't easy to photograph with all of those bits and pieces. Perhaps they are reaching out for love......in the mist? (The common name for nigella comes from the flower being nestled in a ring of lacy bracts).
