Wasn't going to post today ... no particular reason, but this shot just seemed to sit there and say post me. So here it is.
Janets Foss in Malham, whilst being bitten to death by midges and carefully negotiating the wet rocks and logs at the lower falls.
Hope you all had a great weekend, let me know what you think of this one. Just nipping out ... back later!!!
Cheers for looking,
one word WOW
That was 4 words Phil
Great waterfall picture, great location.
Nice comp.Love the water movement and the silk effect on the water .Well capt .
Luvverly!!! I like the wooden python too!
A lovely exposure and great detail once again Paul.
Excellent capture, lovely detail. Well done.
Cracking shot love the water movement
This is superb Paul - the exposure is perfect and I love the viewpoint - quality work.
Great details and spot on exposure Paul
Excellent Paul, worth the post, great composition.
Superb angle and exposure -
Crikey, cheers you lot ... just got back in to see all your wonderful feedback. Thanks for your time everyone, it is much appreciated indeed, happy to see all my potential neck breaking antics haven't gone completely unnoticed
stunner, I've yet to visit this place, now you've really made me wanna go there
Wonderful shot. lovely movement in the water.
Like the comp you chose for this Paul, the water in the fg and bg looks great and the log is a nice feature too
Wonderful perspective and timing on the shot. Superb.
Like your composition but it's the exposure which makes this shot, so many we see where the water is burnt out.
excellent composition & movement Paul.
Worth the potential wet feet, Boss? Certainly looks like it from here
Beautiful Paul, just love this one
Lovely little spot Tony, and then there's Gordale scar about 10 minutes walk away too ... now that is impressive
Cheers all, doing much better than I thought this 'un, thanks to you lot ... ta!!!
Definitely was missus, though I wouldn't want to've slipped on that wet log onto them rocks though
Wow! the capture of the water is perfect, great colours and detail
Thanks Graeme, and everyone else, that's the quickest RC I've had in a very long tim ... cheers all
Excellent camera work!
Ah, the good ones that you worked hard for are the ones you remember or yesterday's trials are today's anecdotes, illustrated in this case.
Lovely exposure & composition Paul.
Seems like the midges were out everywhere at the weekend!
Thanks Jouko, very profound words indeed Chris and they probably were Janet, but this was the weekend before last
Nice composition, colours and creative shutter speed. Nice shot
Pretty impressive to me mate.
Cheers you two. It's only a small location Chris so it's difficult to get angles that others haven't taken, not sure I did here ... but I quite like it. There is a landscape option too but I thought this worked better compositionally.
superb paul , drivin me mad with envy lol , how waterfalls and composition should work at slight risk of death and technique!
Not sure about the risk of death Dave ... serious injury maybe ... not THT keen on getting the shot
Thanks for stopping by mate,
Havent seen the landscape version so cant say for sure but for me the top 1/10th or so distracts and is a bit flat. The bottom half is stunning and I suspect a landscape version would suit my taste better.
Obviously loads above disagree so feel free to ignore me!
Consider yourself ignored Dave
Just kidding mate, you're right in what you say in that it does distract a little more than I would like, but as the sky was less than accommodating and quite bright but flat, there wasn't much I could do about it.
Ta for your honesty though.
Great control, love trying to take slow water, with all its pitfalls, and this was well worth the effort.
Lol! Looking forward to the landscape version.
Glad you decided to post this one
Cheers Mal and Helen, glad you both like it.
Dave it'll be a little while before that one I think, got a few others to post before then ... but it will get put up I'm sure.
Still not shifted that log I see.
You want to take up a chainsaw next time
Excellent Paul, love the comp.
Different falls Roy, different falls
Cheers guys, appreciate it.
Bit xtra special this one...
Very nice, love the composition.
This looks again very very good.
Ta guys, will have to keep this brief as we're just watching the end of the movie Transformers ... c'mon the Autobots
Yay, the Autobots won and the Decepticons ... well ... didn't
Strange this hasnt picked up a HC in my opinion ... its a cracking shot there's no doubt about that.
Lovely delicate colour and fine detail across this wonderful composition Paul, the water is as good as it gets, bonnie image and so well exposed and processed.
All the very best
Shutter speed just right
Cheers Dan ... couldn't sleep??
Ta too Dougie and Doug, glad you like it also.
nice comp0 old bow - a lovely triangle of lines in them there waterfalls.
Cheers Martin and well spotted Ade ... first with the triangles I believe
Superb from FG to BG. Love this. Paul
Out of interest Paul, what shutter speed did you use to get the water movement just so.. Pal
Paul, was a HDR image, but the middle exposure, which is the most prominent in the exposures was at 3 Seconds, HTH
Cheers too Pete, that was a sneaky one
Quote: Strange this hasnt picked up a HC in my opinion ...
... obviously a man with influence LOL
Ta mate, though I have to let HDR take a lot of the credit here
