Wow, I am writing this with a lump in my throat, having read your comments on Lunch 19. I have extremely strong feelings where animals are concerned - and it would seem many of my peers and friends on EPZ do too. It was good to learn that I am not alone in visiting the Elephant Orphanage - I hope that many more of you also get the opportunity. One person mentioned that not only ivory is the root of evil, but many other animal parts are too. And Effrossini summed it all up, when he said "the human being is the wildest animal".

Enough tears; back to a little humour, I hope. Ed (Glostopcat) lightened yesterday's upload of the Baby Elephant, by referring to the Lunch series and asking "one wonders how many more pictures you still have left in your trunk".

Today's Lunch is an image which is kind of difficult to get - a Warthog suckling (yes, I'm sticking with Milk for now!). Warthogs are notoriously skittish and run off as soon as a vehicle approaches, their little tails sticking up like aerials, grunting and squeeling at the top of their indignant voices. They eat only grass, kneeling down on their front legs. A favourite snack for Lion, I have often observed a Lioness, waiting patiently outside a Warthog burrow for its 'hamburger'.

The answer to your question, Ed, is that I am going to milk Lunch for all its worth and hope to go the whole hog on this one, making a real pig of myself..Smile

Hope everyone's done their Christmas Shopping? Sad

Simon

You are definitely hamming it up by continuing this series Simon, it looks like the pork quality jokes will continue for days to come!Blush This youngster looks quite well developed and will soon be able to fend for himself, I wonder where his brothers and sisters are or is he the sole survivor from his litter

Nice one again Simon and when people stop eating animals like my Wife and I then you can call yourselves animal lovers, I hate people who say "I am vegetarian but I eat fish" NO YOU ARE NOT! Your quote "are notoriously skittish and run off as soon as a vehicle approaches, their little tails sticking up like aerials, grunting and squeeling at the top of their indignant voices" I thought you were describing the ladies doing Christmas shopping.

Regards

Trev.

C'mon folks, enough of these animal jokes,
and lets get to a serious matter here.
Am I the only one that thinks Santa is a heartless old git ?
Last year I asked him for the latest Nikon DSLR.
Instead he gave me,socks, underpants and aftershave.
I think I may have him sussed though.
This year I have asked for socks, underpants and aftershave.
Perhaps I will indeed find the latest Nikon DSLR on my fireplace !!
Mick.
