Thank you all very much indeed for your Comments and Votes on Lunch 49 - The Common Waxbill. I was also highly delighted to receive a User Award from Nathan (NDODS). I am glad you liked the little fellow - a touch different to today's upload, for which I apologise in advance, to those with more genteel tastes..! So, Lunch has reached its half century. Thank you all for your great support and good humour, along the way. I have thoroughly enjoyed the ride Smile

Jeff's one-liner "Don't those seeds get stuck in your fillings though!!" came immediately after shelling out 85, just for a consultation with his dentist..! Owch, what was the final bill, Jeff.. Anyone on EPZ do mortgages? Andy keeps reminding me about spending too much time on EPZ and not getting on with my work. Talk about a thorn in my side, he's like having a second conscious. You are possibly right, my friend, but keep it up and you may be joining a growing list for the Lions Stadium..! Grin

Today's 'Lunch'
A lioness, eating a Buffalo and sporting a suitably bloodied face. V2 is her, with her head buried into her Lunch. It may please some of you blood-thirsty ones? I bet you lot are an absolute delight at a barbeque Tongue

Have a Terrific Thursday..!

Simon

This is quite a different experience, Simon. Ripping lips with lips and teeth. Are they easier to rip and chew, or tastier than any other part? Who'd ever know? Terrific shots, mate!

Lots of lions today, this one a little more gruesome than Colleen's but I've had my breakfast so all's well. I retract all previous comments about work...you should rest up, put your feet up, have a brew, you're retired, don't let those pesky kids make you do too much......hopefully enough to keep me from being lunch 51 Grin

Oh and these are both excellent shots mate.

Messy eaters these lions - no table manners. Would never do on 'Come Dine With Me.' I wonder if they eat the flies as well. Great photos Simon.

Stunning images, Simon. Great detail too with uninvited guests (flies) too enjoying the meal. Buffalo and lion have a tempestuous relationship and its not always predator/prey in one direction only.

A bit more meat on the bones here Simon.
A full three courser I fancy !!
I don't fancy being a lion though.
It seems to be all meat they eat.
I would miss my starter and pudding dish I think !!
Mick.

The front bit of the buffalo muzzle is eaten away! I wonder why...can't have been much there to begin with.

Two superb captures, Simon. Got me craving a Big Mac now. Although God knows much meat is actually in that!
