Superb capture Michael. The detail is absolutely spot-on, lovely plumage tones and eye detail, great textures of the wood and a perfect dof. excellent timing with the hapless vole dangling from the beak! The description made me laugh Smile

Many thanks for the c + c's.

Fran, in the few frames before she started to swallow the vole her eyes were open but as soon as she started to swallow her eyes closed. Perhaps she didn't want to see what she was eating.

I think the owl closes it's eyes as a protective measure possibly so that the struggling prey doesn't get a chance to injure the owl?
