I will be posting five-landscape picture this week, all taken on a recent holiday to the island of Madeira. Any suggestions for improvement would be gratefully received, particularly as I wanted to practice and hopefully improve my landscape photography. This is the third shot taken on the north coast of the island with the Atlantic Ocean crashing against the seashore. Many thanks for looking.

This is a very impressive, striking composition and well deserved of the praise you have so far been given. I really love it too - the colours and the contrasts between them are truly marvellous. You could possibly muck around with the saturation - see whether that makes the picture more vivid, but personally, I believe that it is fine as it is. One quibble though - it is probably quite hard to change now, but I feel that the front bushes should either be bigger, or cropped out completely. They just seem a bit small and lonely compared to the dominated landscape. The only problem with that is you are losing your foreground interest. I recommend just leaving it to be honest - I think it is really nice. If you have time, could you comment on some of my recent photography of flowers - having seen your photos in your portfolio, I was wondering what your secret for a good flowery composition were. Thankyou, and very well done!!
