A young Swallow (Hirundo rustica), perching on the overhead power cables, stretching its wings in preparation for the maiden migratory flight to Africa - I do hope it makes the journey safely and returns next year with its companions.
17.5m from subject, tripod. This is a heavy crop.

My thanks to those of you who dropped by and commented on yesterday's upload. Always very much appreciated Smile

Another great photograph in this charming series, one of the highest quality, stunning colour, crisp well defined detail, pin sharp focusing, and superbly composed.

Regards Nathan

Marvellous at 700mm., Sylvia: it does look rather uncertain about everything.
What a migration ahead of it.......another bit of nature's marvels.
Ronnie.

There have seemed to be lots of them around despite are awful summer, I'm sure we'll see them back next year, not sure how the numbers will be though....

Caught this one in a great pose Sylvia - a bit of a balancing act there I think.
