Very pleasant kiddie shot. Focal point just a tiny bit too far forward. Fringe sharper than eyes. Possibly auto focus and very shallow depth of field.

What a difference a camera makes!

Nice pleasant shot of a lovely girl. Could do with a smaller aperture to get the eyes sharper, - using Av mode is the way to go with portraits, as is using a single focus point (the red boxes) rather than all nine. Its easy to select a single point, check the manual. This allows you to control which focus point is important, rather than allowing to camera to chose.

I sharpened the eyes and face only in a mod, cropped a little tighter. Also warmed just a little. View large.

regards

Willie

Nice portrait but for me the viewpoint is to high
I find a more pleasing portrait is achieved by getting to the same level to the subject
In this case its needed a crouched position to take the Photo
Try this technique together with the other peoples comments
to focus on the eyes. The auto function will only focus on nearest
object, in this photos case its the girls fringe
Good luck

Regards Brian
