The boats might be past their best but the shot is top notch.. Great composition and use of light.

Just detected some strange artefacts in the sky just above the horizon. Why do these things only come to notice after uploading to EPZ!

Aaaah, Ian this brings back many memories for me - I sailed and canoed these waters for many years in my youth - such a peaceful place to spend time...although the sight of vessels in this state always makes me feel a little sad. Your image has given them a life again. I feel you have captured the soul of these waters and shoreline in a fine image.

"Past their best" is putting it mildly ! But they make a cracking subject for a photo, and V1 is a beauty. I think it needs the colour to underline the decay. Nice work.

The monochrome conversion is excellent Ian and would win hands down if you hadn't shown the subtle colour version as well. Lovely long tones and soft colour, nothing harsh to annoy the senses, just peace perfect peace, well done Sir.

If I'd not seen the colour, I would have said mono, but for me the colour edges it!

Thanks, everyone.

I know what you mean about the sky, Martin - particularly above the horizon. That's what comes of mucking about with an image without taking due care and attention!

Might give LPOTY a go this year, Ron -will you?

Lovely shot, Ian. Both work for me but the colour appeals most to me with that beautifully toned foreground.

Hi Ian,
Paul Rodgers was fantastic, small world. Joe Elliot was dissapointing, all those guitars and no sound order!!!!! Great you had a good time to Roger Waters next ! Ron.
