Just another pump by the corn fields. I finally got permission to get into the property, and did not realize that a friend of mine farms that land.

The lighting was strange and I enhanced it so it may not even look like a photo anymore. I also tried to do a BW but failed to get as much detail as the color. Maybe one of you skilled enough can modify it.

Warning: I feel like I messed it up again, but you can tell me with your comments and votes.

Thank you for all you've done for me and please feel free to modify.

I really appreciate everyone and this wonderful website.

Enrique

Not messed up at all, rather good in fact. I like all of these but as usual I am drawn more to the b&w.

Doesn't look messed up to me either. v1 definitely has the better balanced composition and there's some lovely detail in the snow. Lovely hues in the sky and snow with the accent colour on the machinery. An excellent capture.

Thanks for your input. I just spent so much time trying to bring out details and colors and thought I overdid it. Every time I look at it it doesn't look like a photo anymore, but more like a fake 3D image. I guess it's just me being paranoid about it.Tongue

Thanks again!Grin

This are great shots Enrigue and unusual in as much with the machinery and the landscape.
I was drawn by V1 but with the lovely colours in the sky background, yes Iwould say that one.
Nicely done….Jocelia

The first version does most for me, Enrique. The cinematic proportions of the image emphasises the horizontal or near-horizontal lines that supply such an essential contrast to the vertical of the nodding donkey, while the extremely limited palette of the background, monochrome plus yellows, is the perfect foil for the subject itself.

I don't think the processing is overdone: I would always assume that the colours are as the photographer intended. The visual dominance of the machine in the sparseness of the background could scarcely be clearer; even so the atmosphere strikes me as sombre, post-ice-age, with the machine a relic of departed humans. A bit apocalyptic, maybe!

I'm not convinced that pure mono works or is necessary. I think I would re-work it from the original rather than from the versions you have offered here as I now have The Grapes of Wrath in mind.
The composition in V3 is not identical to V1 but extends a little both left and right; I like it, but it is not so strong. I must admit to finding the entire approach an exciting concept. Thank you!

Bill

I'll go with V1, for its breadth. V2 seems a bit constrained, cramped by comparison. The violent red of man's handiwork, in a world that is naturally mono at this time of year, says something about intrusion and exploitation.
The mono version doesn't convey the light for me, by the way. This is one of those comparatively rare pictures where colour matters.

V 1 for me too and for the reasons already offered by Bill and Moira: and I don't think you have overdone anything in the processing as the image looks very natural to me, Enrique.
