This little beauty must have escaped from somewhere and is now enjoying life with the other ducks, geese and swans on the riverside. Very capable of looking after himself, could be quite aggresive when he was laying claim to a bit of bread. Many thanks to everyone who looks at my work, every comment is very much appreciated. J.

I think the Mandarin and wood duck are two of our prettiest ducks.
I like how the neck plumage is fluffed in the shot.
Wonderful colors in this fine capture.

A very colourful species Ann and captured well, they do look better if your pov is at their level but I am aware that is not always possible Wink

A lovely shot and proudly posing for you Smile
He won't have needed to have escaped from anywhere, as I think they're native British ducks - certainly they're common in the park near where my parents live and you can often see several pairs together (the females are nowhere near as colourful)
