Tonight a Marbled White taken a couple of weeks ago in Gloucestershire. Hoping for a MasterClass in these beauties at the weekend!! Wink

Many thanks indeed for the C&C's afforded to my last upload - I really am very appreciative of them all.

Take care,

Lou

Another beauty, Lou. One slight niggle, I would like to see the butterfly and scabious moved over to the left hand side, to give the butterfly room to look into. Carol

Can see where you are coming from Carol but I didn't crop this one at all so I didn't have any room to play with - and I didn't want to manipulate it as I'm not an expert at it!! GrinGrin Thanks! Lou

More ambitious with this one than the Marbled 1.....it was on the move..a very hard one to capture as they rarely land (for me anyway).

How are you having a master-class Louise and can we join in...lol

A simple job to re-position the Butterfly and give it more room on this as you have the perfect b/g to use....

Keith

I know its a simple job Keith but this is as I took it - I'm afraid I'm one of those that shows it as it is - unless I decide otherwise (womans prerogative!!) I just don't like to photoshop or edit any more than strictly necessary! If people like it as it is fine - if not thats fine too - each to their own!!

MasterClass is a Private Lesson I am led to believe!! Closed Invites!! lol

Nice sharp image with good colour and well exposed for the light toners on the wings retaining detail.
Like how it shows both sides of the wing.
Maybe the composition is too much to the right, but that's a minor nitpick of a fine image.

Nice bacon butty's up Trywell.

Interesting to read others' comments and your own reply: it's a fine shot, the detail crisp but I do have to agree with Carol's comment re. the positioning of the subject within the frame, Lou. But as you say, it's your shot and if you don't like tinkering with it that's your prerogative.
Ronnie.

"Hoping for a MasterClass in these beauties at the weekend!!" I'm sorry i'm not available either Lou, there is the test match, the conclusion of the tour de france and the Golf open championship on, not to mention all that watering that needs doing at my allotment and in the garden, so I doubt I'll have time to make it to Prestbury Hill!Wink I assume that it is a private photography lesson from the erudite Mr Kiteley then, it can't be the Tomcat as the only masterclass he'd be able to teach you would be in the art of moaning and acting like a big wuss!WinkGrinTongue
