Taken at Leighton Moss. Having stupidly deleted the images from my memory card before downloading them onto my computer-they were miraculously recovered by a friend of my son-thanks to him they appear now in my portfolio. This is the juvenile I believe. Managed to see a Bittern in flight but only managed a blurred shot. They fly above the reeds quite low and quickly before going down again into the reedbeds.

Nice one Paul - This is also a bird that evades me to get close enough to photograph it - I must see three or four every visit but they always seem far off - one day....

There seems to be a good population where I go a lot down at Ham Wall in Somerset at the moment, the species as a whole seem to be doing well this year. You've certainly done this one justice, well done to you.....

Thats a cracking capture. I tried photographing these birds at Minsmere but I could only classify my images as record shots. I admire your skill in achieving such results.
