An early start from a young man desperate to get his image put up before we went out for the day. To say he is fired up for this competition is to put it mildly! (All his own work - I just supplied the hardware)

Nicely done Matthew. Did you think about shooting on a lower ISO as you had ample shutter speed? Also as the title says 'Hawthorn', I might have concentrated more on the flower head with slightly more dof to bring in the detail in closer. The space all on the right hand side is wasted and not required here. The detail on the left flowers in the fg is spot on and grabs all the attention but the eye strays to look right and then back left. This would make a great full frame in close shot of just the flowers.

RESULT TIME!!!

Once again, you have given the judges a dreadful time, and for once, we really couldn't limit the prizes to 3!!! So we've decided to delve into our supply of donated prizes from EPZ members to give a couple of extras.

Judges' Critique: A lovely, well composed image. We really liked the depth of field and the detail you’d captured in the delicate flowers.

Well Done everyone - We will be in touch with the winners shortly

Our next Competition will take place on 4th June - We'll announce the theme very soon - keep your eyes on the forum this week.
