I popped down to the Reserve next door a couple of evenings ago, looking for Damsels & Dragons...not that many around
but I did spot this little chap resting on a grass stem during his very short life !
Even these close up are interesting
Made me smile when I looked close & spotted his wee crash helmet ![]()
I used a touch of fill flash to better isolate him from the bg.
F6.3 manual mode
1/320th sec with fill flash..handheld
ISO 400
Pattern metering...should have selected spot methinks !
F/L 105mm
Raw file converted in C1v4
Levels adjusted, slight crop all round for composition & border added in CS3
Thanks for taking the time to look/comment.
Janet xx

Ha ha!! See what you mean about the crash helmet Janet ![]()
Lovely work with a fab dof and detail.

Janet,
How nice to be able to pop to the reserve, did the chief have his headress on and where the braves dancing around the fire ?
I do like this shot and being so simple it makes it stand out.

Super pose - so well isolated from the bg. It does look a little dull on my screen though Janet - will put up a mod - see how that looks on your monitor.
Brian.
Exquisite-- the insect is perfect and the shadow on the grass inspired!
Well done, Jennnnnnnn
Very nicely isolated Janet, needs to be viewed large to fully appreciate the detail.

Thanks all.
Brian, the mod looks a little overdone on my screen, maybe I should aim for something inbetween the two ? Difficult to look at the same thing on different monitors...why can manufacturers not come up with something that we all see the same
?
Lovely composition Janet and a great capture of the details
