Many thanks to all those who gave me some real good critique on yesterday's Still Life....a subject matter I have not really tried my hand at but it has given me the confidence to "have another go"

Its been a beautiful day here and I was up with the lark this morning to spend a few very enjoyable hours on the local moors with my good friend MikefromEbbw.

I would also like to thank Trevor (achieverswales) for his user award on my Lesser Redpoll, lovely surprise that was - much appreciated sir.

Got to see some great birds but a few days ago I decided to have a go calibrating my 400mm lens...and the shots today were mostly rubbish...also hand holding without IS or a tripod to help did me no favours.

I am showing this for my friend Cassiecat who wondered abt some birds she saw out yesterday and now thinks them to be meadow pipits....hope this is good enough example Lesley for you to confirm!

hope you all had the same great weather we have experienced here.

Moff to watch the Masters finale and hope the young Irishman Rory Mcllroy can provide another another European success from Augusta!

This is a beautiful image, Alan. Were you all geared up in stealth clothing to get this? I'm useless but wearing a padded blue duvet coat may have something to do with me hearing but not seeing any birds when I'm out and about Smile

A great shot - like the pov - pity about Mcllroy fading off in the last round - still only young and is the one to watch - even Tiger reckons that

Beautiful work, calibrating the lens is a dodgy prospect with such a big lens, you could have a lot of fuzzy work if you're not careful. Not a job I'd hurry to try. Looks like you nailed it though, so well done.
