A rather impressive macro photograph Peter, which certainly highlights the beauty, colour and detail in this rather beautiful Butterfly.

And handsome male! France is in a blue mode at the moment... we also got plenty. apart from meadow browns, heaths and gatekeepers.

we've had quite a procession this year too and, as I've mentioned before, all of the ones shown here were photographed in the garden. Blues are really my favourites, but I think the most impressive have been the Swallowtails - it's interesting that they seem to come in two different sizes but with markings that look identical, and the smaller ones are far more agitato
This year is the first in which I've spent so much time photographing butterflies. It's very absorbing and I've received a lot of encouragement from the responses here on Epz - and seen a lot to aspire to as well.
