I know that there is what looks like bad cloning to the right of the bird, but no cloning was done in that area. It is just very oof grasses.
Looking at it now at the reduced size on ePZ it does look a bit pants!
This is fantastic when viewed large. The detail is superb. Oddly enough I think a tighter crop would reduce the impact of the grass.

The Merlin looks beautiful - love the plumage detail.
Must admit I don't like that splurge of grass either. but I see your point re:- size.
