Hey Roddy. Okay, I've ruined my eyes but I've figured out what it is (large dish on a coffe table, with some books on the left hand side) ...
Anyway, although you've said it's a fluke and you've not yet got any software to play with, I really like the stark angles of this as it currently is. I know you've indicated that mods are welcome, so I've uploaded my take on it. I adjusted the Levels a bit to bring out some detail in the rest of the room, and cropped it to more of a square format as I think that suits the abstract nature better, and also gets rid of some unwanted clutter in the rest of the room. I added a 'grain' filter effect (like in the good ol' days of fast film!) to try and hide some of the bits I couldn't do anything with (like that highlight reflection on the book/box) and the radiator and curtains at the top of the image. Good luck when you do get some software ... your family won't see you for days! ![]()
Actually, having uploaded the mod ... I now don't like it
It looks different to what it did on my screen, which may have something to do with the fact that I needed to upsize it slightly to fit with the uploading regs. The grain now looks golf-ball sized! I've just done another one which, although along the same lines (without the grain, but with the large highlight burned in a bit) I think looks better than the last dodgy effort.
thanks everyone for the comments and the mods (starting to get the lingo lol) one of the reasons i liked the image was that it is quite hard to work out and that it sort of floats if you understand.Tanyah that was the effect i chose in camera so obv grain on grain disnae work 2nd effort much better.
Rod
Hi Rod Just found this shot while looking through your portfolio. I really like this shot it reminds me of some of the early still lifes from the 1930's. I know you said you were just playin around but its a good effect.
