Its a beautifully detailed and sharp shot.

It is however very much oversaturated, which causes loss of detail at the pixel level as similarly coloured pixels "bleed" across their boundaries. The mod I have load has saturation reduced by -30 in Photoshop, and still look vibrant.

The colour profile the image is tagged with is Adobe RGB, and you need to change this to sRGB for the web.

There is a blurred area on the left that can be safely cropped out to give you a nice 10 X 8 aspect ratio print.

lets know you level of proficiency with Photoshop, and the Curves adjustment and I can show you how to identify oversaturation my measurement, rather than by viewing so monitor variations can be ruled out.

regards

Willie

The details you've captured in this caterpillar are wonderful, it's a moth called The Drinker.

I've taken it into Photoshop Elements 9 and tweaked it in 'Lighting/contrast'. I also removed the colour cast, gave it a little crop and sharpened it. All minor adjustments, but I feel the colours are a little more natural now! Smile

Fabulous shot.. but Willie is right, and it is over saturated, however the mod is perfect (well done Karen) but well done to you, as it is your incredible shot and you can tweak the image now, remove the saturation and your image will be even better. Jude
