This was taken today, it was difficult to get a good view of it as it was positioned some distance in the middle of a large patch of nettles.

I have reviewed this individual and I have changed my mind on the ID. I believe this to be a female Southern Hawker. The antehumeral stripes on the thorax are too broad and bright for it to be a Migrant Hawker. I am undecided as to the age, it could be immature and just developing it's adult colours or it could be quite old and faded, more research is required.

That Dragonfly book you got me really is rather good.

I'm really honoured to be voter number 30!!! Another RC for Ronnie!

This is an awesome shot of a difficult subject (to find!). Very sharp and detailed - belongs in a wildlife book.

Excellent work Ron.
