Good morning to you all!

Been away from the site for a while; working on a big project at work, and getting some of my stuff ready for a gallery who have agreed to stock some of my pieces.

I’ve had a few PM’s asking my whereabouts, so I thought I’d upload a quickie to let you know I’m still here!

I did chuckle to myself, as my house literally overlooks this lake and I’ve never thought it to be a worthy subject before, why do we take for granted the things on our doorstep! My good lady and I had just walked out of the front door and down the steps to go for a walk, and this scene greeted me “hang on a minute”, I said “I’ll just get my camera!” and this is the result.

It’s my eldest baby’s 11th birthday today, got 5 of her friends coming round for a sleepover – wish me luck!

Rgds

It takes skill to make such an appealing image from such a "mundane" scene. Colour for me please.

Both superb Paul, but the colour for me just pips it, good luck for tonight mate Smile

A fine shot, Paul!
I think V1 just edges it for me, although it's a close call.
Congratulations on 11 years of fatherhood, I hope you survive the night!

Cheers

Version 1 is fabulous, lovely colours and the flowers are a good lead into the image, well done.

Simple but beautifully effective wide angle composition. Prefer the colour version

Very fine monochrome conversion Paul, nicely done. Having said that the colour makes this image spring to life, vibrant colourful and superbly composed. A touch of Summer which we all applaud.

Like the light and tones in this Paul - good mono conversion too - but for me the colour version makes this stand out. Great work.
Good luck with the sleep over could be a late night.

Lovely shot. Definitely v1 for me. The colours work really well.

11 year olds are no problem... just wait till you have 15 year olds having a sleep over!

The 50/50 split does not work for me, sorry paul.

The very strange almost artificial light on the reads in the foreground also does not work.

I enjoy your work but this is not your usual standard.

Sorry if this offends but its my honest opinion. And I welcome the same feedback on my work!
