An attempt to create a fake miniature with a tilt-shift lens effect in post-processing.
Please view large for the proper effect:
I've adapted it a bit for this horizontal POV, but a tutorial can be found here: Tilt Lens Effect Using Photoshop

#2 the original for comparison taken with a tripod at Iso 200, 35mm, f13, 1/3 sec

All comments welcome and thankyou for the feedback on the other shots from Avebury Stones

It's great to try these things isn't it? You got a good narrow dof there and makes an interesting image.

Like the effect Tim. Also like how the stones are set more as they appear in life, rather than the more idealised view of Avebury.

Just for a moment - the twinkling of an eye, the snap of a shutter, even - I thought you were demonstrating the use of a Lensbaby in livestock photography Wink
I do rather like your V1, as you might have guessed. Good title, too!
Bill

v1 is really a terrific and perfect depth of field effect, superb work...

Very clever, although you don't mention it this is as near as I've seen to a recreation of the Lensbaby effect. The feeling of dynamic blur converging on a sweet, bright calm centre. I particularly like the effect of n the stones, it enhances the impression of faces leaning together in conversation.

A fellow Camera Club member showed us this effect several weeks ago. He did explain how he did it, but it lost me a bit! A fine piece of work, Tim, nice to see the original also.

Looks to me like you've successfully created what you set out to achieve, Tim. Well done.

This one doesn't work for me. The two sheep in the middle distance look superimposed because they're in so much clearer focus than the rock that's only just behind them. They also seem much more brightly lit.

A tremendous image Tim, how on earth have you managed to get the sheep to co-operate again? Has the sheep whisperer epzer "Graceland" been imparting his knowledge on you!
