...well more like when the sun managed to burn through the mist. High pressure flattened the loch and brought the midges out, plus about 2 dozen photographers. Must be an English holiday weekend I guess.

Avatar was the movie on TV last night, seems quite apt.

This must be as fine an image as I have seen in a long time from the Moor, Dougie: the conditions other than the midges have worked in your favour and by golly you have taken full advantage of them. The mirror flat calm with the perfect reflections and the misty mountains in the b/g together with the limited colour palette have all contributed to a very fine image. And your letter box crop has further added to the effect and appeal.
Ronnie.

This is wonderful, it seems to be floating in a haze. Makes the brain work, to sort out what's real and what's reflection - I love it when that happens.

Definitely floating towards us; unless the mountains are floating away, of course.
Wonderful.

This has a very serene feel Dougie. The reflections are wonderful, despite the mist. Shame about those marauding English - they get everywhere, given half a chance!! SmileSmile

My quiet place was like a busy street sadly, but that's the summery weather for you.

Unusual to get a flat calm here, & you've made the most of it. Great detail, & a fine composition.

Absolutely tremendous Dougie. You have made the most of those limited colours. It doesn't look out of place amongst your mono images.

You must have got there before the others as I see no sign of them in your shot Grin. Quite simply - beautiful. Moira

Beautifully composed and very well suited to a panoramic Dougie. The subtle toning and mirror help to freate a beautifully serene mood.

I've only just found the panoramic gallery and made my way to this image. Very glad I did, it's simply stunning.
